Description of Event:

Ajax Green Living Days- Ajax’s EARTH WEEK Celebration! The Town of Ajax, lead sponsor Verdian Connections and a number of partners make a week-long celebration of Earth Day, known as Ajax Green Living Days. This week is celebrated with a number of FREE family friendly and environmentally focused events that help inspire you to enhance and protect our planet all year round. School Tree Planting Event Thursday April 20th 10 a.m. Noon, 1 p.m. Location: Clements Greenbelt - Harwood Ave. - Clements Rd. Schools from across Ajax are invited to come out and plant trees. Experts will be on hand to demonstrate how to plant trees, and all the equipment and snacks will be provided. Space is limited and you can register by emailing sustainableajax@ajax.ca Mayors 20 Minute Makeover Friday April 20th - register before April 17th for free supplies! Take part in spring litter cleanup. For registered participants we will provide bags, gloves and garbage collection, plus groups receive a certificate of appreciation for their efforts. Please note that cleanup kits will need to be collected from the Ajax Operations Centre (800 Salem Rd. N.). Deadline to register is Wednesday, April 18. Community Tree Planting Saturday April 21st 10 a.m.-1p.m. Location: Ajax Waterfront - Lake Driveway W. & Bartlett Dr. Celebrate Earth Day and help us plant 2,000 trees with our partner, Forests Ontario. The event runs rain or shine and all equipment is supplied. The event counts towards high school volunteer hours. *EARTH DAY Pollinator Garden Maintenance Session Sunday April 22nd 10 a.m.- 1p.m. Location: St Andrews Park- 46 Exeter Rd Help preserve our pollinators during this spring maintenance session of the Ajax Meadow. Tasks include mulching, weeding and planting of wildflowers. High school students will receive volunteer hours for their support.

Carion Fenn Foundation is excited to present our annual Mental Health Symposium in partnership with Ajax Public Library this May 2018, recognizing Mental Health as a National phenomena.  

 

It is important to increase awareness and facilitate discussion about Mental Health within our communities. Mental health is a disability like all other disabilities. Our symposium will feature a number of different organizations that attendees can speak to, gather information and resources from.
