About Nina Simone: A Tribute starring Alana Bridgewater
Actor/singer, Alana Bridgewater, best known for her role as Killer Queen in the hit musical "We Will Rock You", will grace the St. Francis Centre stage with a tribute to the incredible music and fascinating life of Nina Simone --- singer, songwriter, musician, arranger, and civil rights activist who went on to record 40 albums.
Simone's broad musical styles include jazz, blues, classical, folk, R&B, gospel and pop, and Alana delivers that music in such a soulful way, that you'll feel transported back in time.
In addition to her many acting roles and stage performances, Alana has done choral work with the Canadian Children's Opera Chorus and Mendelssohn Youth Choir, voiceover work for Nickelodeon (Mysticons), and is the voice of Mr. King Dice in the hit video game CupHead.
