ABOUT RCD PHOTOGRAPHY:
Richard Dukeshire was born and raised in scenic Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia where natural photo opportunities were everywhere. As a child, he would regularly sneak his mother’s camera out to capture local images. By the time Richard turned twelve, his mother had grown weary of discovering her film and flashes used up and so one Christmas was given his first camera.
As time went on his interest in photography grew. He avidly photographed his life - friends, family, nature, etc. At the age of nineteen, Richard moved to Ontario and discovered a whole new world to photograph; buildings as tall as the eye could see, Niagara Falls and millions of people all with their own story to tell, just waiting to be captured on film.
In 2008, during a trip to Prague in the Czech Republic, Richard greatly expanded his portfolio. With images of castles, hundred year old houses, and villages laced with cobblestone streets; it was as if he had seen the world for the first time. Richard was inspired to share the world he saw through the camera lens by helping to capture life’s moments for other people.
“All of us wish that people would see things ‘our way’ and photography lets me do just that. There are many photographers out there and many cameras, but only I can capture things the way I see them,” Richard describes what he loves most about photography as RCD Photography was born.
From 1999 to 2011 Richard supervised and took part in security details for concerts across Canada acting as the personal bodyguard for some of the biggest names in the entertainment world. Along with these contacts and his unwavering professionalism, he has been able to photograph some incredible musicians including Juno award winners. He has been personally requested by some of these artists to capture their special moments both on and off stage…
