Pickering Celebrates Scouts Canada's Apple Day 2012
The 5th Pickering Beavers and Cubs were all
smiles today as they celebrated Scouts Canada’s Apple Day 2012 outside of the
Tim Hortons and the Cold Stone Creamery at Brockington Plaza.“Apple Day is so important to the kids.This is their chance to give back to the
community,” explains 5th Pickering Commissioner Mike Taylor.Taylor goes on to indicate that the apples are
a “Thank You” to the public and are not for sale however, donations are
welcomed and are used toward subsidising registration fees, camping, outings
and equipment for the children.
Local Beaver, Cub and Scout packs are spread throughout
Pickering today offering shiny red and green crisp apples for your
pleasure. Please be a good neighbour and
donate in kind to these industrious future leaders.
